This game is chock-full of charm. It may not have started as a tribute to Newgrounds, but god damn is it one now, Everything from the radical style of the art, the smooth-ish animation, the gameplay reminiscent of old DDR clone flash games, and even the bangin' music all harken back to an era not many people know about nowadays, where games that wouldn't be considered good now were praised, where violence was king, and cutesy could go take a crap in the corner (for the most part), where people outcast in other places could come to hang out with like-minded people. Newgrounds isn't just a hosting site: it's a lifestyle, and this game perfectly encapsulates it. The game isn't perfect. The input system is a teeny bit off, the web version has loads of problems relating to loading and performance. But it doesn't need to be. All it needed to be was good, but it went further. 7 banger weeks, 3 cameos from popular Newgrounds peeps, and a whole lot of character. The team behind it has opened a Kickstarter, where they promise 20 whole weeks (30 weeks as I'm typing this!), even more polish, full modding and charting support, cutscenes, 2-player mode, more gameplay mechanics, and that's not even mentioning the plethora of stretch goals that they've listed! And this was just the base game! Even without official modding support, the community has gone wild with all manner of mods, extending the game even further than it would have otherwise. I'm not giving it a full 5 stars for nothing, and I implore you do the same, as this game definitely deserves all the love it's getting.
